Putting Grandma’s recipe
on the shelves
Do you remember your grandmother's tomato sauce?
How about your great aunt's strawberry jam.
For many families, these recipes are but distant
memories - terrific tastes from the family gatherings of
the past.
But for one family in Camillus, grandmother's chili
sauce has become a cottage industry. (Download) |

Chili con family
It was the best trip he ever had to the grocery store. When John Sullivan
and his two children, Amanda and John, returned from Cape Cod last
weekend they found something very familiar on the shelves at Wegmans in
Fairmount. So familiar they almost walked right past it.
It was his mother’s chili sauce, which made its debut in area Wegmans
stores recently.

MARE-O-LIN's
makes TV debut!!
John appeared on WYSR Channel 9's "Bridge Street" show. Bridge Street
features Rick Gary & Julie Abbott, although on October 19th Marie Kulikowsky
(the show's producer) filled in for Julie. Rick & Marie asked a lot of very
appropriate questions, none of which John was exposed to before the show. Things
like where did the name MARE-O-LIN's come from, where can one buy it, what is
it good with etc. All the while the questions were being asked (and being answered!!),
John was mixing up a meat loaf recipe using MARE-O-LIN's.
