Mare-O-Lin's Chili Sauce

For every jar of MARE-O-LIN's sold in 2007, 5 cents will be donated to The Food Bank of Central New York.

It was our goal, beginning in 2005, to designate a charity of the year. Our choice for 2007 Charity of the Year is: The Food Bank of Central New York.

The Food Bank of Central New York is a not-for-profit organization working to eliminate hunger through nutritious food distribution, education, and advocacy in cooperation with the community.

The Food Bank serves as the primary food supplier for 283 emergency programs in 11 counties of New York State, distributing nearly 10 million pounds of food annually. Established in 1985, the organization is considered one of the most efficient food banks in the country, using 94 cents of each dollar for program costs. The Food Bank of Central New York is a certified member of America's Second Harvest, the Nation's Food Bank Network.

OUR COMMITMENT

While not wealthy, my Mom and Dad believed in sharing some of their resources with those less fortunate and in need. We decided to do this on an annual basis because there are so many deserving charities AND because we want to select those that impact us, both past and present.
