For every jar of MARE-O-LIN's sold in 2009, 5 cents will be donated to Operation Southern Comfort.

It was our goal, beginning in 2005, to designate a charity of the year. Our choice for 2009 Charity of the Year is: Operation Southern Comfort

Operation Southern Comfort's Mission Statement is: An Organization of volunteers based in central New York restoring hope to the people of the Gulf coast by rebuilding homes one at a time.

While the Mission Statement is really quite simple and direct, the act of "rebuilding" takes on many forms. The definition of "home" often extends beyond the physical structure of a house that we are all familiar with. It entails lives and living and spirit.

OUR COMMITMENT

While not wealthy, my Mom and Dad believed in sharing some of their resources with those less fortunate and in need. We decided to do this on an annual basis because there are so many deserving charities AND because we want to select those that impact us, both past and present.

2007: The Food Bank of Central New York is a not-for-profit organization working to eliminate hunger through nutritious food distribution, education, and advocacy in cooperation with the community. (More)

2006: The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research is dedicated to ensuring the development of a cure for Parkinson's disease within this decade through an aggressively funded research agenda. (More)
